Datalogic makes a splash for Marie Curie Cancer Care

Datalogic will dive into the world’s biggest fundraising swim at the Hemel Hempstead swimming pool local to the company’s UK branch offices on 26 April.

Datalogic will be entering two teams from both its ADC and Industrial Automation Divisions in the team 5k event.  As well as Datalogic making a generous contribution personal individual donations have already been received from colleagues, customers and families. Held at over 600 pools across the UK from 26-28 April, Swimathon 2013 sees thousands of swimmers challenge themselves through 5k, 2.5k and 1.5k individual challenges or Team 5k/1.5k challenges, while raising vital funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care to provide care and support for terminally ill people at the end of their lives.

Swimathon President and Olympic Gold Medallist Duncan Goodhew said: “With the start of the New Year, what better way to kick-start a healthy new fitness regime than hitting the pool and training up for a Swimathon challenge. Every stroke counts as our dedicated Swimathon 2013 swimmers raise funds for Marie Cure Cancer Care by swimming one of our individual or team challenges. “I wish Datalogic every success for their 5k challenge during this year’s Swimathon.”

Marie Curie Cancer Care gives people with all terminal illnesses the choice to die at home. Funds raised by taking on Swimathon 2013 will help Marie Curie nurses provide them and their families with free hands-on care and emotional support, in their own homes, right until the end.
