Datalogic re-invents the customer Shopping Experience through innovative solutions

Datalogic innovation excites attendees at Equipmag and Wincor World

Eugene OR, USA – November 20, 2012 – Currently the automatic data capture markets are experiencing a technological revolution in the retail marketplace, and Datalogic is proudly leading the way by applying new technology to improve the total shopping experience from front-end to back-end.

 

Recently, Datalogic had the opportunity to display its leadership role by displaying innovative solutions during two major events in Europe, Equipmag in Paris and Wincor World in Rheda-Wiedenbrück.  The enthusiastic responses from attendees to Datalogic’s offerings during both of these events, confirmed Datalogic’s role as a global leader in the automatic data capture arena.

 

This year’s Equipmag hosted 480 international exhibitors who were able to bring new and trendsetting retail technologies to the attendees. The 2012 attendance of more than 23,500 visitors represented a 20% increase over the successful 2010 Equipmag attendees count, and all were on hand to view the inventive solutions presented by Datalogic. 

 

In October, Datalogic next exhibited at the 2012 Wincor World, which offered attendees the opportunity to view applied technology solutions in both banking and retail exhibition halls. Over the course of this event, more than 7,000 visitors from 90 countries took advantage of the opportunity to visit exhibitions and expert presentations by Wincor Nixdorf and 46 renowned partner exhibitors.  The international attendee base was intrigued by the advanced products offered by Datalogic that are sure to re-invent the retail shopping experience of the future.

 

Datalogic was very proud to once again be part of these large retail store automation exhibitions and was excited to be able to display a full range of products and solutions dedicated to retail back-office applications, high performance checkout solutions, self-shopping demonstrations, kiosk options and price verification demonstrations.

 

Of great interest to many international attendees at both of these events was the demonstration of Datalogic’s revolutionary new Automated Scanner.  Automated Scanning is a unique new type of checkout option for high volume retailers that increases operational efficiency while enhancing the consumer’s shopping experience.

 

Datalogic also presented an exciting breakthrough addition to its market leading Magellan family of scanners.  The Magellan™ 9800i scanner-scale is the first product to offer retailers a complete digital imaging data capture solution targeted for use in the highest volume retail checkout environment.  Increasing the performance of high volume checkouts yields faster service and an improved shopping experience for customers.

 

The consumers’ total shopping experience is of great importance to today’s retailers.  Self-shopping provides retailers with cutting edge technology that increments sales and cuts costs, by allowing the customer to take charge of the shopping experience and have fun.  The Joya™ pod is Datalogic’s mobile terminal used for self- shopping solutions. It offers cutting-edge technology and advanced performance in an ergonomic form factor that adds to the consumer’s shopping experience by providing an alternative to traditional checkout lines. 

 

Also on display was Datalogic’s loss prevention solution driven by the Datalogic LaneHawk™product, a vision based item recognition system that turns bottom of the basket (BOB) losses into profits for the retailer.
