This is what arises from the recent market survey presented by VDC Research Group, Inc. (VDC), an independent market research and consulting firm known as being the main source of information for the field of AIDC (Automatic Identification and Data Capture).

The figures published by VDC in 2010 do indeed report that Datalogic has achieved a share on the worldwide market of 31.5% for the line of fixed retail scanners. An impressive share that confirms Datalogic’s leading position on the market since 2004.

Further proof of this remarkable success was given in the recent announcement concerning the production of the millionth Magellan bi-optical scanner, which represents an important target to witness the 30 years and more of innovative products made to satisfy specific customers’ needs.

And that’s not all; the report of VDC also confirms Datalogic’s leadership for the line of handheld products. In countries of the EMEA area, Datalogic is indeed, yet again, the number one supplier of handheld bar code scanners, holding a market share of 30.7%. The VDC report finally confirms Datalogic as the number one supplier of handheld linear imager scanners worldwide with a market share of 38.3% as well as being the third highest supplier in the whole world of handheld scanners installed.
