Joya renews Coop Liguria

Coop Liguria chooses Datalogic's self-shopping solution once again to assure its members an extraordinary shopping experience in terms of speed, autonomy and fun.

After its expansion and accommodation, the historic supermarket Albenga has been represented to the public as a renewed hypermarket that covers an area of 5,500 square meters with 20 counters, which are all enabled with the Salvatempo payment function, six self-checkout kiosks, and 4 self-payment kiosks reserved exclusively for customers who choose the fast way of shopping with Salvatempo.

Albenga hypermarket consolidates the successful partnership between Coop Liguria and Datalogic Mobile, which began in 2003 and then continued its operation in eight other stores. This decision not only confirms the willingness to offer modern and efficient shopping, but also the increasingly favourable response of the members to the proposals of new Coop services.

"The introduction of Salvatempo in the Albenga hypermarket and the satisfaction of Coop members strengthen the partnership between Datalogic and Coop," declared Luigi Frison, Business Development and Marketing Manager at Datalogic Mobile. "In fact, customers appreciate more and more companies which offer solutions that save time while shopping, and ensure a conscious and pleasant shopping experience."

In the renowned Ligurian hypermarket, in fact, the famous self-shopping service, Salvatempo, will be expanded and updated with 144 new Joyas. More and more members will be able to use the innovative pod, which will make registering each product easy, selected and wrapped directly by reading the barcode on the packaging. In this way, the receipt value will be constantly updated. Furthermore, real-time information on products and offers available in the hypermarket are indicated, making interactive shopping fast, with no loss of time: after having finished your purchase, just deliver Joya to the operator who will proceed printing the bill to pay, without undue waiting in line and having to distribute the goods on the conveyor belt.

New Coop hypermarket, Albenga, therefore becomes a modern, versatile and technologically complete store thanks to Joya. This is an environment in which the customers are given the opportunity to choose from a wide range of products (45,000 references present), that can satisfy all special needs for purchase done through self-shopping and self-scanning solutions and where payment for Salvatempo customers is possible both at traditional and self-payment counters.
Albenga is yet another Datalogic success story, helping solidify the company's leadership position with Shopevolution, installed in over 350 stores in Italy (Coop, Conad, Auchan, Esselunga, Famila, Lombardini, Finiper e E.Leclerc Conad), France (Groupe Casino, ATAC, and Carrefour), and Belgium (Delhaize Group and Carrefour).

It also demonstrates the importance of understanding the market and consumers, as well as a powerful trend toward innovation, for constant and ongoing growth.
