Collestrada, 13 September 2012 - Coop Centro Italia decides to align with the major Italian and European top retailers introducing Datalogic’s self-scanning service Shopevolution™ 6.0 with Joya™ A pod, that allows to create a special bond between the customer and the retailer. Thanks to this solution, the customer feels at the center of attention as soon as the store threshold is crossed. The service created with Shopevolution technology guides the customer, providing information, benefits and personalized service throughout the purchasing process.
This solution was specifically designed to put shopping on a personal level, in which the customers are pampered and become the point of focus, while the retailer gets to know them and better understands their needs. A self-scanning service using Shopevolution technology and the Joya A pod therefore represents a very effective method for increasing customer experience, satisfaction, fidelity, shopping value and frequency.
Elegant, with an exclusive design, the Joya A pod is Shopevolution’s tool of choice. This pod allows the customer to have fun shopping, using Datalogic’s patented ‘Green Spot’ technology, which provides good read feedback directly on the code. After the item is read, the customer can put it directly in the bag and go through check-out quickly.
Datalogic installed this system in the Ipercoop of the Collestrada shopping center in Perugia, which has been considered a reference point for Umbrian retail sales for many years. The company could not pass up the opportunity to offer its members even better service than before with the Shopevolution and Joya A pod solution implemented in its self-scanning service.
One hundred and eighty nine Joya A pods serve members of Coop Centro Italia in the Shopevolution world where shopping becomes pleasant and fun, offering digital signage and keeping members informed while they shop.
Thanks to a collaboration of Datalogic and NCR, the STS solution was also implemented, allowing information to be displayed on the screen when using the self-scanning service, such as advertisements and prices, as well as promotional mechanisms used in the channels inside the point of sale. This has created a truly unified subsystem (self-checkout, self-scanning and assisted and non-assisted scales) with the objective of reducing maintenance costs.
