Datalogic Scanning Innovation at Wincor World 2010
Eugene, Oregon March 4, 2010 – Datalogic Scanning was proud to be a part of this year’s Wincor World Exhibition, January 26 – 28 in Paderborn Germany. By demonstrating creative scanning solutions, Datalogic Scanning once again displayed its global leadership position in the data capture marketplace.

The newest additions of the product families of Magellan™, Gryphon™, PowerScan™ and QuickScan™ brands that were on display were met with overwhelmingly positive responses by the attendees. Datalogic Scanning presented to address the areas of high productivity scanning, loss prevention, reduced footprint retail checkout, in-store/backroom mobility and high performance scanners based upon the latest imaging technology.
Several new and enhanced models of the popular Magellan brand of retail scanners were on display at Wincor World. Datalogic’s leading position in the Fixed Retail market was enhanced with the newly released Magellan™ 8500Xt scanner featuring Checkpoint® or Sensormatic® integration, PreScan™ queue-busting technology and Magellan Scale Technology with the All-Weighs™ scale platter, and, the Magellan™ 1100i presentation scanner with IIlumix™ intelligent illumination which enhances the reading of coupons from mobile phones. Also on display were the latest Magellan single plane in-counter and on-counter scanners which offer optimum productivity in small area work spaces.
Innovative solutions for retail and banking applications were found in the acclaimed Gryphon™ family of handheld scanners lineup. Exciting new additions to the Gryphon line shown include the Gryphon™ GM4100 mobile scanner with currency and document counterfeit detection, the Gryphon™ GM4100 EAS imager, the Gryphon™ I GBT4100 with Bluetooth® Wireless Technology and the Gryphon™ L GD4300 readers.
The Datalogic Scanning PowerScan family whose name is virtually synonymous with rugged durability was also showcased during Wincor World 2010. The PowerScan line of readers is ideal for use in back-office and retail “bottom of the basket” scanning needs. One such product is the PowerScan™ PM8300 mobile device, which offers the option of 16-keys and backlit display for optimal data collection.
Finally, the QuickScan™ brand of handheld readers, which are the uncompromising primary scanning devices for many retail applications, were featured.
