Imola (Bo), Italy, November 12, 2008 - The protection of technological and commercial assets by legal instruments such as patents, trademarks, designs or models presents a priority challenge for companies oriented towards growth and expansion on international markets.
This was the basic issue faced during the workshop titled "Industrial property and processes of internationalization. How to protect and make the most of innovation on foreign markets" which has seen the participation of Datalogic S.p.A. The conference, organized by the "Centro Innovami" of Imola (Bo), in collaboration with the University of Bologna and the support of the Foundation Cassa di Risparmio Imola, was held on the last 12th of November.
Datalogic participated in the event dedicated to entrepreneurs, researchers and professionals of the sector sharing its experience in the use of patent information in order to support the competitive analysis on international scale.
During the round table titled "Protection and value increase of technology within international partnerships" Datalogic described significant examples of managing patent data for the reference of companies which intend to operate on an international level.
On one hand, the workshop contributions underlined the effective connection between innovation and internationalization of companies.
On the other hand, the objective of these contributions was to make the entrepreneurs and managers aware of the importance of an adequate protection of technological and commercial assets by using patents.
As a matter of fact, the companies more oriented towards expansion on international markets have the best performances in growth, productivity and innovation generating new technological and market knowledge. Therefore adequate protection of this knowledge by registering patents is required which as a consequence contributes to increasing the value of the company's assets and the value that investors place on companies listed on the Stock Exchange.
