Bologna, 4th March 2005 - With reference to the press release, dated March 3rd 2005, about Datalogic S.p.A.'s acquisition of 90% of INFORMATICS, a U.S. barcode and RFID firm, Datalogic wishes to specify that the purchase price of approximately $23 million will be settled in the form of $11 million in cash plus a bank loan for the remaining $12 million.
According to the terms of the INFORMATICS acquisition, Datalogic will also be purchasing the headquarters building in Dallas for an additional $3.2 million.
With a staff of 95, Informatics closed 2004 with revenues of $34 million and an operating profit of over 10%; it had no significant debt as of the closing date.
By acquiring Informatics, Datalogic will not only strengthen its foothold and positioning in the American market but will also round out its business solutions division, allowing it to develop lucrative synergies in high-growth sectors of the market.
